born in perth western australia in 1983, richard reitzenstein should be at the beach working on a sun tan.

instead, he uses software and hardware techniques to produce contemporary electronic music under the name of richard parker in the vein of minimal, dub techno and experimental electronica. influences range from the warm, rolling dub techno of deepchord or pole, to the quirky, optimistic glitch house of akufen, to the introverted and impartial density of vladislav delay.

parker began his production career in 2002, picking up the basics and eventually developing a sound he is now proud to call his own.

in 2005, two of parker's tracks were featured on the breakbeat compilation "synthetic beats" (he needed a stage name, so the name of a bengal tiger from a book about a shipwreck, a tiger and a boy was chosen), and he was invited to perform two live performances at the weekly signal2noise event.

since then, parker has also performed live at minimal x-posure, the final frontier for minimal music in perth. more gigs for 2007 are in the pipeline, so stay tuned!
